Hello

Welcome to Rustic Tours, from Gail, Jamie & Murray.
We are 3 friends and colleagues who have decided to combine our forces and create a Bespoke Guided Tour Service in the North of Scotland.

We share a combination of 20 years working as tour guides in the Scottish Highlands and Islands.
We have journeyed far and wide, across the seas, cruising the coastlines and sharing some stories with many visitors to Scotland.

We will combine our knowledge, experience and with your personal ambitions and interests to tailor-make your perfect Bespoke Tour of Scotland.
Here are a few kind words from our previous visitors ;
"The absolutely brilliant work of our guide Gail, and the enchanted way she tells history and stories, made it fascinating and enjoyable from the first to the last minute." TripAdvisor Feb'17

"Jamie (guide) was THE BEST! Story after story so you really felt Scotland's history and if you listened, you might hear the smashing of swords as the Clans clashed and crashed together! It is also evident that Jamie's love for his country directs his enthusiasm in wanting YOU to feel the uniqueness of this country and see all the special little spots that otherwise, you may never have! Jamie was honest and would offer us choice for eateries, etc. Amazingly, Jamie also knows where almost EVERY bathroom is in Scotland! Seems a bit preoccupied with that knowledge...... And his driving skills! Again, the best! We would not have ever been able to maneuver around this country the way Jamie can! Mind you, we all had to tighten our tummy's a few times (Jamie's request). He is also very courteous to the livestock on the roads....of which there were plenty. Seriously, not ONCE did we feel uncomfortable on any road/valley/high mountain trail, etc. He's a terrific driver!" TripAdvisor May'17

"Murray was an excellent guide and driver, informative on history, geology, mythology, culture, and customs, providing a friendly, relaxed atmosphere while ensuring that we had enough time to enjoy all of the sights." Tripadvisor August'17

A bit about the service we offer....
Rustic Tours can offer a uniquely planned guided tour around Scotland.  You can read more about our Bespoke Tours  here

Let us take care of the driving so you can sit back, relax and enjoy the marvellous views.
We will share with you the history, tales, music and culture of the places we visit.

 We are all resident in the Northwest Highlands of Scotland.
We choose to live here because it is the most beautiful part of Scotland, come rain or shine, and due to the plentiful activities on offer;
 mountain climbing, fishing, woodland walks, kayaking, wildlife-watching, snorkelling and more.

 We work with other small local businesses to give you a truly authentic local experience and warm Highland Hospitality.

When and Where do we offer Guided Tours?

The short answer ... Anywhere and Everywhere in Scotland.

We are residents of Assynt & Coigach  and would love to show you around here :) For a day, or 2 ... or more.

For Cruise Ship Passengers looking for a day ashore, explore with us from the ports of Invergordon or Ullapool.

We welcome enquiries for Day Tours from across the North of Scotland.

We are very happy to travel with you, from any starting point in Scotland on Multi-Day Tours  and overnight trips.

We can even help to arrange your accommodation.

 Our guided-tours will be conducted in a comfortable 8-seated vehicle.  This small vehicle can take you to places where larger coaches cannot.
Meet your Rustic Guides
Gail Williams
I have a passion for Scottish History and am currently studying part-time to gain a BA History degree.

I love meeting people from all over the world and sharing Scotland’s most beautiful locations, and telling stories of myths, modern culture and ancient history.

My other interests include hiking, wild-swimming and snorkelling, cooking and playing ukulele.
Jamie Smith
I live for travel and adventure!

My interests include mountain biking, running marathons, writing, playing guitar and am learning to speak Scots Gaelic.  I love mountain climbing and am currently gaining my Mountain Leader qualification.

As if that wasn't enough I am also studying part-time to gain a BSc Environmental Architecture... and designing an eco-home that we are hoping to build next year.

Murray Anderson

For me, there is no greater vocation that being a tour-guide.  It is a pleasure to share Scotland and all her glories and stories with visitors... and I extend you the warmest welcome.

I am very excited to become a crofter.  We 3 have recently taken on a croft (small farm) in Assynt and I am the green-fingered magic-maker.

I love meeting lovely folk from all over the globe and telling the tales of Scotlands Highlands and Islands.
